Grounds For Sculpture, a 35-acre sculpture park and museum, on the former site of the New Jersey State Fairgrounds, has captivated visitors since 1992. It has gained in popularity as more of the public discovers this striking setting for contemporary art. Indoor exhibits are shown throughout the year in two expansive, glass-walled buildings, refurbished from structures built in the 1920’s and 1940’s. The lush foliage and the rolling landscape of the grounds provide the ideal background for over 240 works by emerging and well-known artists. Grounds For Sculpture also offers water features, Rat’s restaurant, the Museum Shop, Toad Hall Shop & Gallery, a Café and the seasonally-open Gazebo Café for visitors to enjoy. Special events and educational programs are scheduled throughout the year offering music and entertainment, lectures, hands-on art workshops, tours, and more.
In July of 2000, Grounds For Sculpture changed its governance and became a public non-profit organization, Public Art Foundation, Inc. As a non-profit, the sculpture park counts on the support of visitors, art patrons, donations, and grants to continue its growth as an outstanding art center.
