Museum of Afro-American History
Boston, MA
Incorporated in 1967, The Museum of African American History is New England’s premiere African American history museum with four national historic sites and two Black Heritage Trailsâ. The Museum’s two campuses, one on Boston’s Beacon Hill and another on Nantucket, were the nexus of the free 19th century African American community and their organized and dedicated abolitionist activity.
The Museum of African American History is dedicated to preserving, conserving and accurately interpreting the contributions of African Americans in New England from the colonial period through the 19th century.
