Lopez Island Historical Society
Lopez Island, WA
The mission of the Lopez Island Historical Society is to collect, preserve, share and interpret local history among island residents and visitors in order to increase awareness and appreciation of the resource for the educational benefit of this and future generations.
Our vision is of an exciting, welcoming, educational place to learn family and local history, tell our stories, foster respect for our unique island and culture, and serve as a legacy for future generations.
The Lopez Island Historical Society Museum is located in the heart of Lopez Village on Weeks Road, across from Islander's Bank. The museum is open noon to 4:00pm, Wednesday through Sunday, from May through September.
We hope you will continue to support our efforts to create programs that are valuable to our island community, that maintain the Museum and Port Stanley School, and preserve the memories that make Lopez Island unique. More than 60% of our operating funds come from museum members in the form of membership dues and program donations.
