Museum of Contemporary Art Denver
The MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART | DENVER (MCA) is an innovative forum that inspires and challenges all audiences and creates understanding and dialogue about art of our time.
MCA was founded in 1996 by a group of energetic community volunteers and artists deeply committed to creating a permanent home for contemporary art in Denver. Over its brief ten-year history MCA has grown into a vibrant organization that delivers contemporary art to the broader community, serving audiences ranging from artists, families, and scholars to those unfamiliar with contemporary art.
Exhibitions & Programs at MCA focus on celebrating the artistic strengths of this region while integrating national and international artists, curators and writers to create rich, cross-disciplinary discourse. MCA is a non-collecting space and functions like the European model of a kunsthalle, offering the ongoing presentation of innovative and challenging artwork. Through increased public awareness and participation in exhibits, performances, educational programs and building campaign, MCA seeks broader audiences by presenting programs that emphasize the educational value of contemporary art.
