National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature
Abilene, TX
The National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature (NCCIL pronounced ‘nickel’) is committed to celebrating the magic and wonder that art can bring to a child’s life through books. The NCCIL provides recognition of illustrators’ artistic achievements through gallery exhibitions of their work and designs educational programming to stimulate creativity, promote literacy and increase children’s appreciation for art. To date the NCCIL has organized 25 exhibits of original illustrations from highly acclaimed children’s book illustrators. These exhibits have toured to more than 45 different venues across the nation, sharing with audiences of all ages the rich diversity of children’s illustrations and literature.
