The History: Busy Brains Children's Museum is a non-profit corporation founded in November, 2003 by Kathy Goers and Alison Price. In March of 2004 a Board of Directors was formed consisting of six initial members. The organization became incorporated in the State of Illinois in April of 2004.
Busy Brains Children's Museum has grown and changed significantly in one year! Federal tax-exempt status 501(c)3 was granted in December of 2004. The Board has been approached by numerous villages, and is pursuing others in order to find the best location to house a children's museum.
Mission statement: Busy Brains Children's Museum encourages the joy of learning and discovery in all children, with interactive exhibits and enlightening programs in the arts, sciences, and humanities.
