21st century innovative exhibits come alive at The Museum of Mobile where visitors discover Mobile as the first American saw it. Relive the journey of African-Americans, and see their influence in music, sports and leadership. Sense the devastation of powerful natural disasters. Get your hands on history in the Discovery Room, an interactive gallery of fun, and visit the Shop in the Southern Market for that special gift or memento, all located in the beautiful Southern Market/Old City Hall the nation’s oldest continuous seat of city government. Located next to The Museum of Mobile, Fort Condé is a replica of the original 18th century French brick fort on that site. The present structure as built in celebration of America’s 1976 bicentennial. The historic section houses artifacts and exhibits related to the three colonial periods of Mobile history. Costumed guides lead tours, fire muskets and cannons, and take you back to the early days of Mobile’s beginnings. Fort Condé Museum 150 S. Royal Street
