Newton History Museum at the Jackson Homestead

The Newton History Museum presents exhibitions on a variety of historic and current topics relevant to life in Newton and greater Boston. Here, you'll learn about the abolition movement in Newton and how the Jackson family used their home as a stop on the Underground Railroad, how to research and preserve your family photographs and papers, and participate in public programs, lectures, and walks that focus on a wide range of historic topics, including burying grounds, home and property, cultural diversity, and much more. The museum serves as the headquarters of the Newton Historical Society, and holds research materials as well as an extensive library and objects collection.
