The Los Alamos Historical Museum displays over 1.4 million years of history: from the explosive volcanic formation of the Parajito Plateau through the times of the Ancestral Pueblo Indians; from the Hispanic ranchers and homesteaders to the Los Alamos Ranch School for boys; the development of the first atomic devices of the Manhattan Project and the early years of the town of Los Alamos. The museum is open 361 days a year. Admission is free.
