The Louisiana Museum Foundation, founded in 1981, is empowered to seek, accept, and administer grants and gifts on behalf of to the Louisiana State Museum. The mission of the Louisiana Museum Foundation is to raise and administer major donor funds for programs of the Louisiana State Museum where state funding is insufficient or non-existent. This includes: exhibits, special educational programming, curator training, and conservation and acquisitions, among other activities.
